Last month, the Sun had a passel of headlines about what would come to pass by yesterday, 9/11/11, all predicted by Nostradamus. Here they are.

• Nuclear blast rocks U.S.
• Great depression
• Bin Laden seen alive!
• Lady Liberty speaks
• Antichrist is a woman!
  

The only one of them that's even close is the great depression, but most economists disagree and it certainly didn't get massively worse in the past four weeks, so I'm going to hang a big zero for five around Michel de Nostradamus' long dead neck.

If we are being all technical and stuff, the Sun got a prophecy right when they said the Mayans foretold of earthquakes in the Midwest in July 2011.

There are earthquakes in the Midwest of the United States almost every day. They are just really small.

The biggest this month in the Midwest was a 2.8 on the Richter scale, epicenter near Greenbrier, Arkansas. California had about a dozen quakes stronger than that this month, none of the them newsworthy. The biggest this month was a 7.0 off the coast of Japan, about 16,000 times stronger than a 2.8 and about 100 weaker than the gigantic quake that hit Japan earlier this year.

So I'm counting this as a technically correct prophecy, but a practically pointless one. People do not need to be forewarned about earthquakes a cat might sleep through.

Last Easter week, the Sun told us July 4 was the beginning of the end. According to John the Baptist, Satan would appear in Congress and according to Nostradamus, a new plague would be sweeping the United States.

It's July 5 and the major news outlets don't have any such stories, so I'm going to call this another swing and a miss.

More than that, this is a re-hash on the part of the Sun, who said Satan would appear in Congress on July 4, 2010.

It's like they think we aren't paying attention.

Where does the time go? It was only 100 days ago when the Sun gave us a 100 day prediction of nuclear war, the Second Coming and a sex scandal in the White House. That's a big Oh For Three in the prediction biz, and I'm going to be a stickler and say a sex scandal in the House of Representatives doesn't even count as a foul tip.

Sadly, among the psychics who predicted these non-events was Nikki, Psychic to the Stars!

I hope the Sun doesn't lose faith in her. The hat, the coat and the eyeliner just scream "psychic powers"!
