Synopsis

Lee Shin is a university student majoring in modern music. He is also the vocalist and guitarist of the band “The Stupid.” Shin is known for his good looks and strong passion for music, but in reality he is cold, lacks interest in anything unrelated to music and has neither dreams nor plans for the future. He initially likes Jung Yoon Soo, a dance professor at university, but this all changes when he meets Lee Kyu Won.

Lee Kyu Won is a bright and outgoing student who was born into a prestigious family and is majoring in traditional Korean instruments, especially the gayageum. Kyu Won’s grandfather, Lee Dong Gun, is one of the top 3 traditional musicians of his age and his biggest wish is to see his granddaughter become a traditional music prodigy. Trying to live up to her grandfather’s expectations, Kyu Won immerses herself in training and becomes a university student who knows nothing outside of her studies. As her friends are fans of “The Stupid”, she was forced to go to the band’s concert with them. There she saw Lee Shin performing live, and is immediately captivated by him.

Episode 10 synopsis/summary/recap - “Slowly, Little by Little, To You”

Since Shin’s confession that his wish was for Kyu-won to like him again, everyone has now returned home from the MT trip.

On the morning of the first day back to school, Kyu-won finds Shin waiting outside her house. Lest we doubt what Kyu-won’s answer was to Shin’s confession, their timid smiles at each other and Shin’s cheerful whistling seem evidence enough that they are now officially a couple.

Still standing outside her door, Shin holds out his hand to her as he had done on that fateful night. And just the same, Kyu-won also starts to hold out her own hand to accept his. But before she can do so, he moves his hand and corrects her that he was offering to hold her bag – not her hand!

Due to Kyu-won’s recent accident, they opt to walk to school, instead of taking the bike. As they walk down the street side by side, their hands continue to brush past each other.

Complaining that his hand hurts from continuing to bump into hers, Shin responds by grabbing her hand. He explains that they have no choice but to hold each other’s hands if they don’t want to continue bumping their hand against each other’s.

They smile as they walk down the street holding each other’s hands, looking very much like a young couple in love as they are.

Meanwhile, Kyu-won’s dad, who is back in Seoul to look into the matter of moving back permanently, bumps into Shin’s mom as they both walk out their doors.

Over coffee, they discuss the coincidence of Shin being the “Prince of Conceit” that Kyu-won has talked so much about. Kyu-won’s dad mutters to himself that perhaps he should tell Kyu-won to like some other guy instead. When Shin’s mom looks up, he confesses that the reason why he wants to move back to Seoul is not only to be close to his family, but because of her as well. But before he can continue, she cuts him off and suggests that they drop this topic, much to his disappointment. (And to the cheer from the rest of us!)

And now back to our young lovers. On their way to school, they stop by Baskin Robbins for some ice cream. The Three Mean Girls, who happened to have been passing by, spot the two inside. They spy on the two, wondering why Shin and Kyu-won would be hanging out together. Are they… dating?!

However, Shin catches on that he and Kyu-won are being spied on. He tells Kyu-won to not turn around, but to eat her ice cream silently. When the three girls see Shin and Kyu-won just eating the ice cream together with no particularly friendly or romantic atmosphere between them, they decide that the two neighbors probably just ran into each other and there is nothing between them.

Once they leave, Shin breathes a sigh of relief. He explains that it will be tiring once others find out that they’re dating, and Kyu-won will be public enemy #1 on campus. His matter-of-fact acceptance that they should keep their relationship a secret upsets Kyu-won. Well, according to his logic, perhaps they should just not be seen together ever again!

As Kyu-won walks out of the ice cream parlor and Shin follows to explain himself, Bo-woon sees Kyu-won and runs up to her. Asking after Kyu-won and finding out that she’s doing fine, they head to campus together, leaving Shin behind.

Shin continues to trail behind them, as B0-woons asks Kyu-won about who else, but Shin. “Why were you together with Shin? Did you make some progress since returning from the MT trip?! Are you sure there’s nothing going on? Just tell me.” Kyu-won lies that there’s nothing going on and that they just accidentally ran into each other on their way to school.

Watching Kyu-won and Bo-woon leaving him behind, all Shin can do is exclaim in exasperation, “CHA BO-WOON!”

Joon-hee receives homemade cookies from his female fans. Seeing Hee-joo walk pass by, he runs after her and offers her some. She declines, but when he continues to insist that she try one, she becomes irritated and knocks them out of his hand. For a second, she looks guilty, but she yells even louder that he not bring her anything to eat. There’s not much time left until their show and she has to manage her weight.

Meanwhile, Hee-joo’s mom meets with Tae-joon and announces that she has had a change of mind. With Hee-joo confirmed in the leading role, she no longer sees any reason to fire Suk-hyun from the musical. She orders Tae-joon to cancel their earlier plan, for having her daughter star in a musical directed by a Broadway director can only be good publicity for Hee-joo.

Pissed that his plan is not going as planned, Tae-joon next goes to Yoon-soo to try to stir some trouble. He asks her whether she has heard the rumor about Suk-hyun with some unknown actress back in Broadway. Yoon-soo smiles as she retorts back that neither she nor Suk-hyun is a child. It’s not as if she had not dated anyone in those past six years either.

As Tae-joon turns to leave, Yoon-soo advises him not to talk about Suk-hyun in front of her again. If he does, she’s afraid he’ll look pathetic. Umm, as he doesn’t look pathetic enough already. Either way, Tae-joon’s plan has failed once again.

At the musical rehearsal, Shin is completely ignored by Kyu-won. In order to get her attention, he suddenly breaks out into a guitar solo. He manages to get everyone’s attention, BUT Kyu-won’s.

With not much time left until the show, Suk-hyun announces to his musical team that they must really take seriously their practice. Everyone stands in position, but Hee-joo pushes Kyu-won away from her spot. Suk-hyun warns Kyu-won that the understudy must prepare thoroughly in case anything happens to the lead, and has Kyu-won practice right alongside Hee-joo.

After rehearsal, Suk-hyun calls Kyu-won and Hee-joo over for a talk. As he watches Kyu-won eat the whipped cream in her iced cafe mocha, whereas Hee-joo declines to even add syrup in her plain iced Americano, he tells Kyu-won to watch and learn from Hee-joo on how to better take care of her body. (Personally, I was disappointed with Suk-hyun in this scene, as I was hoping he would tell Hee-joo to learn to treat herself once in a while, instead of actually encouraging her unhealthy diet. But then again, he probably was unaware that Hee-joo has been going as far as starving herself lately.)

But it is Hee-joo’s comment to just let Kyu-won be as she has no chance of going up on stage anyway that awakes Kyu-won’s competitive nature. Kyu-won promises to start taking care of herself from here on now, for if she does ever have to go on stage, she doesn’t want the show ruined because of her.

Suk-hyun tells the two girls that this is exactly what he wanted to talk about. They should be praying and taking care of each other to make sure nothing happens to each other, for the good of the show. The girls reluctantly agree to do as they are told.

Shin gets interrupted by Soo-myung as he is waiting for Kyu-won in the hallway. When Kyu-won arrives, Soo-myung inquires about how their music is coming along. And then he finally takes off to give the young lovers the time alone. But before they get a chance to talk about their little argument from earlier, they are interrupted once again by Bo-woon.

Shin watches in frustration as he watches Kyu-won leave with Bo-woon to meet up with the Windflowers girls. Once again, he clenches his teeth as he mutters that name, “CHA BO-WOON!”

Kyu-won learns from the Windflowers girls that the news has already spread across campus that Shin and Kyu-won were seen eating ice cream together. They warn her to be careful. If any other rumors spread, there may be many girls after Kyu-won to pull her hair out. Once alone, Kyu-won realizes that the situation may indeed be much more dire than as warned by Shin once the news gets out that they are indeed dating. “My hair,” Kyu-won repeats.

The girls go shopping next. When Bo-woon catches Kyu-won looking at couple tees and wonders why, Kyu-won lies to her friends that she is considering wearing it with her grandfather. At the mention of Kyu-won’s grandfather, one friend confides that she is slightly scared of him. But Kyu-won shares that he is strict only in appearance; he’s actually very funny and sweet.

Bo-woon suggests that they all go visit Kyu-won’s grandfather. The other girls can’t go, but undeterred, Bo-woon insists on going even if by herself. She wants to see and take a photo of Grandpa wearing the couple tee. (Why do I feel like Shin would have to soon mutter once again, “CHA BO-WOON”?)

Indeed, after failing to have a talk with Kyu-won at school, Shin decides to wait for her at her home, even volunteering to go through the torture of hearing Grandpa’s story once again. Excited that he has a listener, Grandpa welcomes Shin into his home.

Shin suffers in pain sitting in a kneeled position as he listens to Grandpa’s stories. Grandpa is at year 21 of his life and recounts the story of how he got married. Grandpa reminisces, “Then or now, I never lacked anything in looks. When I was young, I looked just exactly like you.” He continues with his tall tale of the riot caused by women when the news of his impending marriage had spread across the country.

Shin is delighted when Kyu-won returns home. But his happiness is short-lived as he sees Bo-woon follow right behind her. Bo-woon wonders what Shin is doing here, but Kyu-won quickly makes up an excuse that Shin is learning about gukak from her grandfather.

Bo-woon is excited to see Grandpa try on the new couple tee and insists that Kyu-won take it out to show it to him. Shin looks on with wonder.

Grandpa agrees to try on his new tee, and has the young ones leave the room while he changes into it. Poor Shin limps out once again.

Out of earshot from others, Shin complains to Kyu-won why “CHA BO-WOON” (sorry, I don’t know why I keep caps locking her name, but it just feels appropriate for her this episode) keeps following them around. Meanwhile, Bo-woon is curious herself why she keeps seeing Shin and Kyu-won together. (Bo-woon, put two and two together. I know you have it in you!)

When Grandpa comes out wearing his new tee, Bo-woon laments that Kyu-won should hurry and find herself a boyfriend to wear couple tees together. Shin frowns, but then a light bulb goes off in his head.

Shin: Cha Bo-woon? Have you heard the gukak life story of pansori master, Lee Dong Jin.
Bo-woon: Huh? I just heard he was amazing.
Shin: How could YOU, a gukak major, not have heard it? Even I come to listen to it. While we’re on this topic, why don’t you stay to hear it?
Bo-woon: Can I really do that, Grandpa?
Grandpa: It’s fine with me, but (addressing Shin) shouldn’t we finish what we were talking about earlier?
Shin: As I live right next door, I can hear it at anytime, sir.

Bo-woon would love to hear it and can’t believe her luck at this rare opportunity. She gladly follows Grandpa back into his room, unaware of what she is walking into.

Leaving Bo-woon behind, Shin and Kyu-won walk out of the house. Kyu-won feels sorry for Bo-woon, but Shin explains that she kept interrupting them when he had something important to say.

Kyu-won: What is it you wanted to say?
Shin: I’m sorry.
Kyu-won: About what?
Shin: Must I say that in words? (Sigh) Ever since meeting you, I talk too much.
Kyu-won: I think you were right. Let’s not cause any rumors. I don’t want to get my hair pulled.
Shin: Your hair pulled?
Kyu-won: There is something like that.
Shin: By the way, that couple tee worn by Grandpa – did you buy it to wear it with me?
Kyu-won: Huh? (faking a laugh) No!
Shin: (smiling) What a relief! It wasn’t my style.

Kyu-won asks how far along has he come in the ending song for the musical. Sitting on a park bench together, Shin plays the guitar portion of the song for her from his tablet, in what is blatant product placement. Kyu-won also takes out her phone and starts playing the gayageum part on it.

After the song ends, Shin asks Kyu-won what she thinks of it. When she stays mum and just looks at him, he appears dejected as he asks, “Is it not good?” But Kyu-won then breaks into a smile.

Kyu-won: It’s good.
Shin: Really?
Kyu-won: Yeah. I was going to scold you if it was bad, but it’s really good. The gayageum part – I like it!
Shin: I’m not sure of it myself, but others say I’m a fast learner. When I’m taught one thing, I get ten out of it. Or so they say.
Kyu-won: Pssh. It’s because you had a good tutor!
Shin: Let me know if there’s something I need to fix. I plan to use all the instruments for the climax part.
Kyu-won: Okay. Do a good job and make it fun, enough to make me move my shoulders to the music!
Shin: (smiling) If i want to see that, I have to make sure to do a good job!

Shin admits to Kyu-won that he was upset to see Hee-joo push Kyu-won during practice.

Shin: Doesn’t it make you feel bad being the understudy?
Kyu-won: No.
Shin: Even though you may never get a chance to go up on stage after all that practicing?
Kyu-won: It’s okay. I didn’t start it with the intent to be the lead anyway. Although I started it because of you, it now just feels new and exciting to learn to sing and dance. (They smile as they look at each other.) Thank you.

Shin suggests that they continue listening to music. As the music plays, their eyes meet. He tells her to listen to the music, and not just stare at his face.

Kyu-won: When did I look?
Shin: You didn’t look?
Kyu-won: I didn’t.

They smile, giggle, and steal glances at each other as they listen to music.

The night has fallen, and Bo-woon is still listening to Grandpa’s stories. Her legs hurt so much from sitting in the same position for so long that she literally looks like she’ll cry at any moment. Kyu-won finally returns home and comes to Bo-woon’s rescue. As Bo-woon limps out, she asks Kyu-won if Shin has something against her for him to push her in there. “What exactly did I do wrong to Shin?” After Bo-woon leaves, Kyu-won whispers, “Sorry, Bo-woon!”

The next morning, Shin is waiting in front of her house once again. He has even prepared a frog cushion on his bike for Kyu-won to sit.

Sitting behind Shin on his bike, Kyu-won awkwardly holds on to his bag. When he tells her to hold on tight, she grabs onto the strap of his bag even tighter.

“I said hold on tight!”

After some hesitation, Kyu-won puts her arms around Shin’s waist. And a few seconds later, she gains the courage to lean her head against his back. (Next time, don’t wear a backpack, Shin!!) They both smile during the bike ride.

Once inside the school building, Shin holds her hand. Kyu-won panics and tries to pull away. “I don’t want my hair pulled out.”

But Shin holds on and won’t let her go. They walk down the hallway together, hand in hand. People quickly take note, and a crowd has gathered to watch them. All the girls at school have erupted in anger, cursing that name – LEE. KYU. WON.

The news of Shin and Kyu-won dating have spread all over campus. Bo-woon now understands why Shin dragged her into the den of the lion (I mean, Kyu-won’s grandpa) the day before.

Even Suk-hyun has noticed the change in the air on campus. He asks Yoon-soo if something happened today.

Yoon-soo: Kyu-won and Shin are dating. The school has turned upside down.
Suk-hyun: What? Ah, Kyu-won, that punk! This is not the time to be dating.
Yoon-soo: Why? You don’t like the two dating?
Suk-hyun: It’s not that, but there is not much time left before the show. Hee-joo is working so hard even at this moment.
Yoon-soo: Well, Kyu-won is the understudy, anyway.
Suk-hyun: Even so, we can never relax until the show is done. Whatever happens, the show comes first. They better not miss practice to go on dates!

I like how Yoon-soo has been handling herself lately. Instead of showing senseless jealousy, she has been behaving maturely despite Suk-hyun’s display of jealousy/overprotectiveness/concern for Kyu-won. I hope Yoon-soo doesn’t lose that in the future episodes.

Hee-joo practices with Ki-young, but she still fails to convey the emotions of her character through her singing. She complains that she doesn’t understand the female lead character. How can it make sense to leave just in order to be acknowledged for her talent by her boyfriend?

Ki-young explains that the goal Hee-joo has in mind for the lead character is success, whereas the motive of the female lead character in the musical is love. Hee-joo says she knows, and that’s why she thinks of love as she sings. Ki-young explains that the problem is just that. The audience can see what Hee-joo is thinking.

Ki-young suggests that they go eat, but Hee-joo insists she’d rather continue practicing. He worries that she’ll faint if she keeps this up, but Hee-joo tells him to worry about himself. He better not run off again – her mom won’t just take that.

Speaking of Hee-joo’s mom, she is meeting with the sponsors for the school’s 100th year anniversary show. They wonder if it would be possible for them to watch the show in advance, taking advantage of their sponsor privileges. But when she tries to get in contact with her daughter, Hee-joo cannot be reached.

In fact, Hee-joo has been escorted to a picnic set up on the rooftop by Joon-hee. Knowing that Hee-joo has not been eating and just surviving on vitamins and nutrient supplements, Joon-hee has prepared a picnic of low-calorie food for her. After confirming that she really won’t gain weight from eating his food, she eats them deliciously. Joon-hee promises to bring her lunch like this every day until the show ends.

When Hee-joo receives a spam call, Joon-hee takes her phone and turns it off. He advises her to just think about food while eating.

Unable to reach her daughter, Hee-joo’s mom gives Tae-joon a thirty minute notice for their visit. When Suk-hyun receives the call from Tae-joon, he is rightfully outraged, explaining that even a poor production at the brink of bankruptcy won’t pull something like this. But Yoon-soo, who had been meeting with him for lunch, convinces Suk-hyun to go back and prepare for the visit.

Alone with the other traitor professor, Tae-joon is enjoying this new turn of event, challenging Suk-hyun to show him what he got… and embarrass himself in front of the sponsors.

Meanwhile, at his band practice studio, Shin is teaching Kyu-won how to play the guitar. He notices that she has her hair pinned back, and wonders why. Kyu-won explains that his rabid fangirls may come after her and pull all her hair out.

Shin: You have me. I will stay by your side, so you don’t have to do that funny hairstyle.

Kyu-won smiles, but looks up with her eyes wide in surprise as Shin leans in close to her face, looking like ready to go for the kill a kiss. But they get interrupted again, by who else but CHA BO-WOON!

Kyu-won didn’t hear the phone earlier because it was set to vibrate, but the musical team needs her right away. Bo-woon explains that Hee-joo’s mom is bringing over guests to take a sneak peek at the show. But since they can’t reach Hee-joo, Kyu-won has to stand in for the female lead.

Clueless of the chaos caused by her own mom, Hee-joo takes a nap on Joon-hee’s lap.

Suk-hyun and Soo-myung are busy preparing for the last-minute impromptu performance. Back in the dressing room, Ki-young is a nervous wreck.

Kyu-won: How can you be shaking already? (grabbing his hands) I’m going out there puting my trust in you, Oppa. Let’s just think of this as practice, yeah?

Ki-young nods and smiles. Just then, Shin knocks and walks in. Ki-young leaves the room to give the two their privacy, but not before first thanking Kyu-won.

Once Ki-young leaves, however, Kyu-won reveals that she is a nervous wreck as well. She was just pretending to be strong for Ki-young’s sake.

Shin: I get nervous every time I go up on stage at Catharsis.
Kyu-won: You too?
Shin: (nods) Do you know what I do whenever that happens?
Kyu-won: (shakes her head) I don’t know.

Shin covers her cheeks with both hands.

Shin: I look at the audience like this and repeat a chant.
Kyu-won: What do you say?
Shin: ”You’ve fallen for me.”

Shin pinches her cheek and cheers her up. “Lee Kyu-won, fighting!”

Despite putting the performance together at the last minute, the kids deliver. And in particular, Ki-young and Kyu-won sound really great together.

Shin and Suk-hyun are pleased as Punch, beaming with pride at Kyu-won’s performance. The sponsors are impressed as well, giving them a standing ovation. One sponsor guy remarks that if the understudy is this good, how much better would Hee-joo be?

Hee-joo’s mom is upset, but Tae-joon is pleased that his plan worked. Now that she saw with her own eyes that Kyu-won is a better performer than Hee-joo, she won’t stand to watch Kyu-won remain as the understudy. And in order to kick out Kyu-won, they would need to first kick out Suk-hyun.

By the time Hee-joo wakes up from her nap and gets the many messages left for her on her voicemail, it’s too late. Hee-joo runs in with Joon-hee, and runs into her mom on her way out.

Both Hee-joo and Joon-hee look on in shock as Hee-joo’s mom slaps Hee-joo across her face.

Hee-joo’s mom: Did you have your phone turned off to hang out with a loser like him? Lee Kyu-won did a good job. If you don’t want to do this, quit right now, instead of embarrassing your parents in front of others.

Hee-joo’s mom heads over to Tae-joon’s office. And as expected, she tells him to proceed as originally planned to spread the rumor about Suk-hyun and have him fired.

Unaware of the troubles ahead, Suk-hyun praises Kyu-won and Ki-young for their excellent performance. Ki-young explains that he was able to perform so well thanks to Kyu-won, and Suk-hyun turns back to Kyu-won.

Not knowing any better way to praise Kyu-won for a job well-done, Suk-hyun goes back to his old habit of ruffling her hair, only for Shin to grab his wrist to stop him this time.

Shin: Lee Kyu-won… is not a child.

Suk-hyun looks on as Shin drags Kyu-won away. Seeing them go, Ki-young notes that Shin must really like Kyu-won a lot.

Suk-hyun: That punk! He takes her away just because I was praising her a little? Is Lee Kyu-won his belonging or something?

As Kyu-won and Shin walk on together, the Windflowers girls chase after them with a “big problem.” Kyu-won instinctively grabs her hair back, wondering if there are people coming to pull out her hair.

But the problem is even more serious, they explain. The Three Silly Girls are holding a public poll on whether they can accept Shin and Kyu-won dating. The overwhelming majority of people are placing their stickers on the side opposing this relationship.

Seeing Shin smile, Kyu-won asks him why he’s smiling.

Shin: It’s funny.
Kyu-won: That’s funny to you?
Shin: Don’t concern yourself with what others say.
Kyu-won: You may be able to not concern yourself, but I can’t. It pisses me off.
Shin: Things like this will happen frequently. Are you going to react so sensitively each time it happens?
Kyu-won: Then I should smile like you? Can’t I even get angry about it? And shouldn’t you not smile either seeing that?
Shin: Why are you getting mad at me?
Kyu-won: Forget it. For an average girl like me meet to date a popular guy like you, I should just expect things like this and get over them. But I still feel awful.

Kyu-won turns to leave, and Shin tries to stop her.

Kyu-won: I’m not mad at you. I just want to be left alone.

She walks off.

The Windflowers girls confront Shin. “It’s natural that Kyu-won would be mad!” “Your fault is that you’re too popular!” “How can you not understand women at all?!”

Then then decide to approach the Three Silly Girls to give them a piece of their mind. But Shin stops them. This is his job.

Shin walks up to the table set up by the Three Silly Girls. “I’ll say it just once. Take this down.” The girls obediently agree to do so right away.

In low spirit, Kyu-won walks past Suk-hyun, not even noticing him. Suk-hyun calls after her to ask what’s wrong.

Kyu-won: Do I really fall that behind compared to Lee Shin?
Suk-hyun: Who said that?
Kyu-won: Everyone!
Suk-hyun: Bring anyone who said that to me. I will scold all of them. Kyu-won, you have the ability to move people’s heart. And there are only a handful of people who can see that.
Kyu-won: Really?
Suk-hyun: Of course. I can see it with my eyes. So cheer up, okay? If Shin upsets you, let me know. I’ll scold him.
Kyu-won: Yes, I will. And thanks for telling me about the musical. I was really happy singing on stage earlier.

Suk-hyun smiles as he sees her leave, but catching himself, he shakes himself to stop.

Shin stops by Kyu-won’s home on his way to his house, and learns that Kyu-won has not returned yet.

Shin contemplates over what to text Kyu-won to apologize for earlier. His sister walks in to his room, the news of Shin dating Kyu-won already having reached her school. She’s upset that his brother is too good for Kyu-won, but he warns her not to say that anymore. Well, she gives him her own warning. She can accept them dating, but he better not kiss her. If such a rumor spreads, all his fans will leave him and she won’t be able to sell his autographs.

Meanwhile, Kyu-won is still waiting for a text or a phone call from Shin, but there’s none.

Well, at least there’s one person happy to learn that Shin and Kyu-won are dating. Thanks to all the depressed fans of Shin drinking their misery away, Madame Gu’s business is doing well. But he is quickly reminded that he may lose a lot of business in the evening. Now that Shin has a girlfriend, there won’t be as many girls coming to see him perform at the club.

Suk-hyun doesn’t see what’s so great about Shin. To him, Kyu-won seems too good for him!

Just then, Shin walks into the club for his evening gig. While Yoon-soo has excused herself to go to the restroom, Suk-hyun tells Shin not to make Kyu-won cry.

Shin: I don’t know why you’re worrying about this matter. (You should worry about) not making Professor Jung cry.
Suk-hyun: You never back down once, do you? Fine, so you may go now.

The long-awaited text from Shin finally arrives! He tells her to come to Catharsis tonight. Kyu-won vows to play hard to get, but when another text arrives, she can’t help herself from reading it again. This time, he tells her not to bring Bo-woon along. Kyu-won goes right into picking out her outfit to wear tonight.

Meanwhile, Hee-joo sulks in her room by herself. Her mom walks in and apologizes for slapping her earlier.

Hee-joo’s mom: We’ll be kicking out Lee Kyu-won and Director Kim Suk-hyun, so you just pretend you don’t know anything.
Hee-joo: Mom, thank you. I had been bothered by those two as it was. I’m glad.

Shin is performing with his band at Catharsis, and he smile as he sees Kyu-won walk in. As she walks closer, everyone is gossiping about Kyu-won, noting that she’s the girlfriend, why is she here, and remarking how annoying!

Shin switches mood and next sings the song he made with his dad, “Because I Miss You.” As he sings, she remembers his words to her that his wish is for her to like him again. Kyu-won smiles.

Once the song ends, he nods over to her to come closer to the stage. The female audience members freak out. “What the heck is that?” “No!” “I really can’t stand it!”

Disregarding what everyone is saying around them, Shin inches closer to where she is standing. They pause to look into each other’s eyes.

And then...

Heartstrings/You've Fallen for Me Episode 10 synopsis/summary/recap

Episode 10 starts with the last scene from the previous episode where Shin tells Kyu Won that he wishes for her not to stop liking him.
It moves on to Kuy Won leaving for school with Shin waiting outside. She comes out, he puts his hand out, making Kyu Won think he is asking for her hand, but in fact, he offers to carry her bag. As they walk, Kyu Won keeps hitting Shin’s hands with her hands and so to stop them from hitting each other’s hands, Shin suggests to hold hands.

Meanwhile, Shin’s mom and Kyu Won’s dad have coffee together and Kyu Won’s dad tells her that he has come to Seoul because of her. Shin’s mom says that he should stop thinking about things like that, but he should still visit every now and then. Shin’s mom complements Kyu Won’s cooking, saying she is better than her.

Shin and Kyu Won go to get some ice cream and are seen by the three girls. Shin sees them looking through the window, so he acts like he doesn’t know anything. While the two eat ice cream, Kyu Won says that they shouldn’t be seen by others, since Shin thinks it will be tiring for both of them. However, Kyu Won misunderstood him and becomes upset. When they leave, they see Bo Woon and so Kyu Won goes off with her, leaving Shin. Bo Woon starts to go get suspicious as Kyu Won and Shin are always together, but Kyu Won denies there’s nothing between them.

Tae Joon meets with Hee Joo’s mom, informing her that he’s going to publicise the rumour about Seok Hyun and an actress, but Hee Joo’s mom says there is no need. Tae Joon then goes to Yoon Soo, trying to make Seok Hyun look like a bad person. Yoon Soo says that he should stop talking about Seok Hyun with her.

Next we see the rehearsal for the performance where Kyu Won is required to stay close with Hee Joo since she is the understudy. After rehearsal, Seok Hyuk takes Kyu Won and Hee Joo for coffee. While Hee Joo just ordered an ice americano, Kyu Won ordered an ice coffee mocha with cream on top. Hee Joo looks digusted as Kyu Won eats the cream on it’s own. Seok Hyun tells Kyu Won that she should learn from Hee Joo at taking care of her body. However, Hee Joo says there is no need for her to do so since she won’t be performing. After bickering, the two end up saying what Seok Hyun wanted to discuss – he wants them to look out for each other.

Back in school, Shin waits for Kyu Won and Soo Myoung passes by, wondering who he waiting for – obviously, Shin says “No one”. Kyu Won eventually comes and Soo Myoung says that he has heard they are doing the ending music together, to which Kyu Won says she is only helping Shin in the traditional aspect. Just as Shin is about to apologize to Kyu Won, Bo Woon comes, dragging her away with her.

Kyu Won goes shopping with her friends and he friends notice that she is looking at couple t-shirts. She says that she wears it with her grandpa at home which surprises her friends since her grandpa only wears hanboks. So Bo Woon wants to go to Kyu Won’s house to see him wear the t-shirt. At Kyu Won’s house, Shin has asked Dong Jin to tell him his stories, thinking that Bo Woon won’t follow Kyu Won home. After listening to Dong Jin’s stories, Kyu Won finially comes home but with Bo Woon, disappointing Shin. Kyu Won shows her grandpa the t-shirt and surprisingly, he agrees to wear it. Since Shin wants to desperately talk to Kyu Won he insists Bo Woon to listen to Dong Jin’s stories, to which Bo Woon is more than happy to.

While Bo Woon listens to Dong Jin, Shin and Kyu Won go to the park. Shin let Kyu Won listen to how the ending music sounds so far, but because he doesn’t have his guitar, he uses his a guitar app on his ipad instead. Similarly, Kyu Won plays the gayageum using her phone. After listening to the piece, Kyu Won says that she really likes it, especially the gayageum part.

Shin tells Kyu Won that what Hee Joo is doing to her, is not good. When he asks her whether she feels bad being the understudy, she says that she didn’t want to be the main lead and started because of him and now she can sing and dance. They listen to the music again and Kyu Won can’t help but stare at Shin face, making him say “Don’t just look at my face, listen to the music as well”

Kyu Won goes back home and save Bo Woon from being in pain any longer. The next day, Shin takes Kyu Won to school, even preparing a cushion for her to sit on, on his bike. In school Shin takes Kyu Won hands and as people see them holding hand, the school turns into chaos.

Hee Joo practices her singing with Gi Yeong and he gives her tips on how to improve. Whe Gi Yeong leaves, Hee Joo practices her dance but starts to get hungry. Joon Hee suddenly comes and takes her to the roof top where he has prepared her food, saying she won’t get fat. Hee Joo eats it, saying it’s delicous which pleases Joon Hee. After Hee Joo gets a random call, Joon Hee takes her phone and turns it off. Just as Joon Hee turns it off, Hee Joo’s mom calls her because there people who want to see how the performance is coming along.

Shin in teaching Kyu Won how to play the guitar and he looks at her, questioning as to why she has her hair tied up. She says that she doesn’t want people pulling out her hair (since she now dating Shin) and he reassures her that he is there. Just as Shin is about to kiss Kyu Won, Bo Woon comes storming in. saying that she need to do the performance as Hee Joo cannot be found.

Meanwhile, at the roof top, Joon Hee makes Hee Joo sleep on his lap after she finished eating. While the dance group are having some last minute practice, Kyu Won and Gi Yeong are in the dressing room getting ready. As Gi Yeong looks nervous, Kyu Won takes his hand and tells him to think of it as a rehearsal. Shin then comes in so Gi Yeong leaves, thanking her for her advice. As soon as Gi Yeong leaves, Kyu Won shows her nerves and Shin helps her calm down.

After the people see the performance of Gi Yeong and Kyu Won, they are impressed by Kyu Won skills and feel that the main lead must be amazing. Hee Joo sees her mother as she coming out of the rehearsal room and receiver a slap on the face for not being able to do the performance. Her mom then looks at Joon Hee and tells him that he is no match for Hee Joo.

Hee Joo mom immediately goes to Tae Joon, telling him to go ahead with his plans on distroying Seok Hyuk. While Kyu Won is being praised by Seok Hyuk, along with Gi Yeong, Shin comes and takes Kyu Won away when Seok Hyun ruffles Kyu Won’s hair. As they are walking in the corridor, Kyu Won’s friends aprroach them, saying there is serious trouble and they see the three girls getting people to vote on Shin and Kyu Won break up. Shin tells Kyu Won not to let it get to her, but she says that it hurts her feelings. She leaves, saying that she isn’t mad, but wants to be alone.

After Kyu Won leaves, Kyu Won’s friends tells him he doesn’t know girls that much and that he should think about how Kyu Won feels. So as Kyu Won’s friends are about to get into a fight with the three girls, he stops them and cooly tell the three girls to tidy their mess, which they obediently do.

While Kyu Won is walking in the corridor, Swok Hyun sees that she is sad so he talks to her. He tells her that she has a heart to change people and if Shin does anything bad to her he will punish him.
Dong Jin sees Shin walking with his bike as he pass Kyu Won’s house and he asks whether he has come to listen to his stories. Shin says he as a part time job and Dong Jin wonders why Kyu Won hasn’t come home yet.

When Shin gets home, he starts to text an apology to Kyu Won but can’t get round to sending it. His sister comes in and says she doesn’t approve of Kyu Won, but after some thinking, she says it’s okay, along as they don’t kiss, otherwise his autographs won’t sell well.
At the Catharsis, Seok Hyun and Yoon Soo as come for a drink and are talking to their friend who is the manager. The friend says that loads of college girls where cries, hence he has made lots of money. Just then, Shin arrives. Seok Hyun tells him not to make Kyu Won cry – Shin cannot lose to his words, so he also tells him not to make Yoon Soo cry.

Kyu Won is in her bedroom, saying “Lee Shin you fool” into a mini electric fan. She keeps looking at her phone, to see whether Shin has sent any kind of text. After a few minutes, she gets one saying “Come to the Catharsis” then another saying “Don’t bring Bo Woon”. At first, Kyu Won planned to ignore it, but she can’t help it so she goes to decide what to wear.

At the Catharsis, Shin is having a concert with his band and there are still some people. When Kyu Won walks him, he stops playing his electric guitar and changes to his acoustic. He then starts to sing “Because I miss you”. After the song, he calls Kyu Won to the stage, making everyone whisper. He bends down and gently kisses her in front of everyone.

Hee – Shin’s actually waiting outside of Kyu-won’s house, with a smile on his face, and she’s pleasantly surprised to see him there. He’s come to walk with her to school, not taking his bike because she can’t ride it anyways. He offers out his hand, and she shyly takes it… only he wants her backpack instead! HAHA – gallant, but so not what we wanted!

As if the cuteness will never end, they walk side by side, and Kyu-won swings her hands so much so that it will brush his. “I guess we will have to hold hands if we don’t want them to hit each other” – and with that, he grabs her hand! YAYYYY!

Meanwhile the parents have an encounter of their own. They bump into each other outside their respective houses and go for coffee. Sun-ki (the father) finds out that Ji-young’s son is the infamous “arrogant prince” in Kyu-won’s stories, and wonders if he should have his daughter stop seeing her son. You see, he’s planning on moving to Seoul, and it’s not just because he wants to take care of his aging father. It’s also because of Ji-young. Good think Ji-young stops him in his tracks and tells him not to talk about it.

Shin and Kyu-won go on their date at an ice cream parlor, but guess who sees them as they pass by the store? Yep – the Three Angry Girls. Immediately they peer through the windows to see if the girl he’s with is really Kyu-won. Shin sees them right away and grows uncomfortable. He stops Kyu-won from turning and seeing them, and sighs in relief when the Three Angry Girls go skipping away.

They reason that it’s possible for Shin and Kyu-won to hang out because they’re neighbors, and nothing more.

Shin admits that he didn’t want rumors spreading if Sa-rang really saw them together on a date. All the girls would also rise up against Kyu-won and make her life troublesome. While that may all be true, it’s also hurtful. Kyu-won thinks that they might as well not do anything together then, in case they get caught. It’s not what Shin meant, but that’s how she takes it.

As they leave the parlor, they bump into Bo-woon, who’s surprised to see her there with Shin. She leads Kyu-won away, leaving Shin to follow them a ways behind.

Bo-woon wants to know if something happened with Shin during camp, but Kyu-won denies that anything happened. Heh – of course, Shin hears it all and he starts muttering Bo-woon’s name in anger – annoyed that she just came in between them.

At school, Jun-hee is accosted by some fans giving him cookies. He sees Hee-joo passing by, and immediately runs up to her. In front of those fans, he shares the cookies with her. Hee-joo, being bratty, throws it out of his hands. She didn’t want it, okay?! And he shouldn’t be tempting a girl with an eating disorder on a diet with cookies.

Tae-joon meets with Hee-joo’s mother, who’s not too pleased to be constantly meeting him outside. Tae-joon relates his plans on how to embarrass Seok-hyun with a scandal, but she says it’s not necessary. Since Hee-joo will be onstage no matter what, it’d be better if she were under the guidance of a Broadway director. And just like *that* the problem is gone. Tae-joon is foiled!

This drama does not seem to dwell on the melodramatics very long…

Still wanting to ruin Seok-hyun, he goes to visit Yoon-su, telling her that “something” happened between Seok-hyun and his lead actress back in Broadway. Clearly he’s trying to make Yoon-su jealous, but she doesn’t bite. After all, she dated others too when they were apart. Tae-joon pretends that he just wanted to make sure Yoon-su wouldn’t be stabbed in the back later, but she doesn’t mind. After all, she stabbed him in the back first.

Tae-joon is foiled again!

At practice, Shin watches Kyu-won from afar as she socializes with the other actors. In need of some attention, he starts showing off his skills on the guitar. Kyu-won is non-plussed, and Seok-hyun calls him out on it playfully. They all start from the first act, and of course, Hee-joo pushes Kyu-won aside. However, Seok-hyun wants Kyu-won closer to the front, rather than in the back. She needs to practice exactly the same as Hee-joo, much to the leading actress’ annoyance.

After practice, Seok-hyun calls both girls aside. He takes the two of them out for coffee, and of course, Kyu-won orders a very foamy and sweet cafe mocha in front of the starving-herself Hee-joo. Seok-hyun scolds Kyu-won for not watching her weight, but Hee-joo doesn’t mind – after all, Kyu-won won’t go on stage!

Now all Seok-hyun has to do is watch the two girls diss each other and fight. And that’s literally the reason why he brought them aside. He wants them to realize that they’re not competing. They should be taking care of each other instead, and make sure nothing will affect the performance. He makes them promise, and they even force their smiles to satisfy him.

Shin waits outside the rehearsal hall, and is startled when Soo-myung asks what he’s doing there. A moment later, the reason appears: Kyu-won. Soo-myung remembers that they’re working together on the ending song and wishes them luck. Good thing they have that excuse to spend time together, eh?

He’s about to apologize (or explain himself) about that morning when – guess who? – Bo-woon appears! She interrupts (again) and invites Kyu-won to hang with the girls. Like, right now. Bo-woon finally notices Shin there: “Oh, I see you quite often today!”

Once again, Shin utters Bo-woon’s name like a curse. But then he gets a bright idea…

The girls are all dishing for the latest news from Kyu-won, knowing that she had ice cream with Shin this morning. (News like that spreads fast, you see…) But everyone thinks it’s only because they’re neighbors and nothing more, otherwise they’d be pulling out her hair now.

They all go into a store, and Bo-woon catches her looking at couple tees. Kyu-won fibs that she wants to wear them with her grandpa (*snerk*). After all, underneath all that traditional clothing, he’s quite the fashionista. OK then! Bo-woon now wants to visit Grandpa and take a picture of him wearing the couple shirt.

Heartstrings Episode 10 summary/synopsis/recap

Shin actually ends up at Kyu-won’s house. He greets Grandpa – he actually wants to hear the rest of Grandpa’s long-winded history! HA! Oh the pains he’s willing to go through just so he could catch Kyu-won for a private chat. After all, Bo-woon couldn’t possibly come over to her home, right?!

Most ridiculous thing Grandpa says? “I looked just like you when I was younger!” Shin: “HUH?”

Finally, Kyu-won arrives home, and Shin once again smiles with relief. Except… Bo-woon follows her in.

Bo-woon is surprised to see Shin for the third time in one day, and Kyu-won lies about Shin getting traditional music tutoring from Grandpa these days. Bo-woon then excitedly tells Grandpa about the couple t-shirts, and Shin immediately realizes that those t-shirts are more for him than for Grandpa.

Grandpa’s all, “You want me to wear that!?” He thinks she’s just trying to get out of ironing his clothes all the time, but he agrees to wear them for Bo-woon. Shin nearly falls after sitting for so long, so Kyu-won helps him up – a move that does not go missed under Bo-woon’s watchful eyes.

Bo-woon thinks she’s been seeing the two of them together too often, but Kyu-won brushes it aside to just being neighbors. Grandpa comes out, proud of the t-shirt. That’s when Shin gets the bright idea of suggesting that Bo-woon listen to the grand life story of Lee Dong Jin the Great Singer. Naive, she agrees to listen, totally excited.

Shin closes the door behind them, saying, “Cha Bo-woon, you’re so lucky. You should feel honored.” Hehehe. And you know where Grandpa starts his story? Waaaaay back when his mother had a dream about a pumpkin, before he was born.

Outside, Shin goes, “Grandpa must have started with the dream. I wonder how far she’ll get.”

Now with Bo-woon out of the way, he can finally apologize to Kyu-won for that morning. Kyu-won agrees with him though – she does want to keep their relationship on the down-low because she doesn’t want her hair to be pulled.

They go to a nearby park so that he can show her his current edit of the song. Using his tablet, he plays the guitar, and she uses her phone to play with the Gayageum app. How friggin’ convenient is that? The song is quite cheerful, and it meshes both stringed instruments quite well. Kyu-won didn’t expect to like it so much, and she promises to help him make it better and use all the traditional instruments. [download]

Shin wonders if Kyu-won is OK with being Hee-joo’s understudy, because she might never be onstage. But Kyu-won is fine; she knew she wouldn’t be the starring role anyways. She’s enjoying just learning and dancing, and is glad that Shin got her to continue doing the musical in the first place.

They while away the afternoon, listening to some music together. It’s late evening before Kyu-won finally returns home, and by then Grandpa is only up to his life at 16. Bo-woon is suffering a slow and painful death, but thankfully Kyu-won arrives to send Bo-woon home. Hehe. As Bo-woon limps out, she realizes that Shin must have done this out of revenge against her, but she has no idea why.

The next morning, Shin takes her to school, and he even got her a special froggy cushion for her seat in the back of his bike. He tells her to hold on tight – around his waist, not just his bag. AWWW. When they arrive in school, Shin grabs her hand. It doesn’t matter if others see (and others DO see – notably the Three Angry Girls and Soo-myung). Shin basically proclaims their love in front of everyone as they walk through the halls. Boys go “Whoaaa!” Girls faint and scream, “Noooo!” Chaos reigns the school. Even the Windflowers get on her case immediately, and Bo-woon complains that if she had known earlier, she wouldn’t have stuck around Kyu-won so much.

The hatred towards Kyu-won even reaches the professors’ ears, and Seok-hyun wonders what the fuss is all about. He thinks Kyu-won shouldn’t be dating at this time, and Yoon-su is amused that he disapproves so much. With the performance a few days away, he’d rather if Kyu-won focused more on the performance than on her love life.

Hee-joo is practicing hard with Ki-young in the rehearsal room. He doesn’t think she’s managed to encapsulate the feelings of the main female lead, who leaves the main male lead for acknowledgment. She thinks too hard about trying to be in love that all you can see is her thinking about it.

Her mother, meanwhile, is taking out the sponsors for a meal, thanking them for helping out. They congratulate her on her daughter being the lead and ask if they can see a bit of the performance today. While mother isn’t all too keen, she does pull a few strings to make it happen.

As for Hee-joo, she tries to practice through her hunger, but Jun-hee catches her. He takes her out for a rooftop picnic, knowing that she’s not eating anything other than vitamins and ginseng. He’s worried that she’s getting to skinny, so he forces her to sit down and eat lunch with him. He was even thoughtful enough to make sure her food was non-fattening. Eagerly, she eats. Poor gal. :)

She gets a call from an annoying telemarketer and so Jun-hee shuts off her phone so that she can eat in peace. That also means, she misses a call from her mother, warning her about the impromptu performance.

Tae-joon relays the message about the performance to Seok-hyun, who frets about it being so sudden. Tae-joon is secretly pleased with this development, as he wonders how Seok-hyun will deal with the pressure. Seok-hyun doesn’t want to hold the performance, but Yoon-su tries to appease him. Just do it once – for her.

Kyu-won is in the band’s practice room, getting private lessons from Shin on how to play the guitar. He notes how she’s tied up her hair quite tightly today, and it’s all because she wants to make sure it’ll be difficult for anyone to just grab her hair. Hehe – I love how she’s so worried about girls coming after her.

Shin tells her that he’s by her side, so she will never have to worry. He leans in close – to KISS HER – when suddenly BO-WOON comes rushing in to the room! Shin: “Cha Bo-woon. I was wondering when you’d be coming.”

Bo-woon is too panicked to care. Kyu-won needs to hurry to the rehearsal room because they need to perform for the sponsors – and Hee-joo is nowhere to be found. This is what understudies are for!

Hee-joo is still enjoying her rooftop date, and so after she’s eaten her full, Jun-hee tells her that she can sleep on his lap. He’ll sing her a lullaby. Great Jun-hee! You just ruined Hee-joo’s chance to perform! Her mother is freaking out that Hee-joo is nowhere to be found, and is forced to show the sponsors a performance without her daughter. Tae-joon thinks this might end up favorable for him; if Kyu-won proves to be better than Hee-joo, no doubt the mother won’t let the matter rest, and Tae-joon can get his revenge against Seok-hyun.

Ki-young and Kyu-won prepare in the music room. Ki-young is trying to calm his nerves, but looks like he’s ready to bolt. Kyu-won immediately grabs his hands – he can’t fail her now! She’s relying on him! She tells him to pretend it’s practice, and he smiles, a little more at ease. Shin comes in, and Ki-young tactfully chooses to leave the room for them.

Now it’s Kyu-won’s turn to have her major freak out – she only pretended to be strong for Ki-young. Shin admits that he gets stage fright when he performs at the club too. He cups her face in his hands, and tells her to look at the audience in the eye, and chant, “You’ve fallen for me.” Then she can overcome her nervousness.

Seok-hyun apologizes to the sponsors for the short performance, as they can only show a bit of Acts 3 and 4. Hee-joo’s mother explains to the sponsors that her daughter is sick, and so they’re going to have to watch the backup perform. While she’s bristling with anger, Hee-joo suddenly awakens at the rooftop. She turns on her phone, and finally sees all the missed calls from her mother.

The performance is well under way, starting with an elaborate dance sequence, and ending with a duet from Ki-young and Kyu-won. Of course, the moment Kyu-won opens her mouth, the sponsors are awed; the mother is struck dumb – and furious; Seok-hyun smiles; and Shin is glowing with pride for his girlfriend. [download]

Now if the understudy is that good, Hee-joo must be better. Right?!

If only it were that easy. By the time Hee-joo arrives outside the performance hall, it’s all over. Her mother sees her with Jun-hee, and *SLAAAAP* right across her daughter’s cheek. Jun-hee is sent away, and the mother yells at her daughter for turning off her phone for a sloppy boy. Hee-joo can quit right now if she doesn’t want to take this seriously. She shouldn’t embarrass her parents – especially now with Kyu-won actually being way better than Hee-joo.

The mother visits Tae-joon. She wants him to leak the scandal now, and persuade Seok-hyun forcefully to cut Kyu-won.

After the performance, Seok-hyun is so proud of Kyu-won for stepping up, and for helping Ki-young stay focused. He ruffles her hair affectionately – but is stopped by Shin. Yup – don’t mess with his girlfriend. She’s not a child either. He takes her by the hand and drags her away. Ki-young notes that Shin must really like Kyu-won, but Seok-hyun thinks Shin is just doing that because he ruffled her hair.

The Windflowers catch up to the couple to inform them about a new campaign the Three Angry Girls are starting. They want everyone to participate and choose if Shin and Kyu-won should be together or not. Shin actually finds it amusing, and tells her not to worry about what others say. But Kyu-won is angry and hurt that she must be hassled like this for just dating the most popular guy in school. She leaves, seeking solace on her own.

Immediately the Windflowers take him to task for being too popular. Ha! They’re about to go and take down the Three Angry Girls, but Shin stops them. Instead, he goes up to them and tells them to cut. it. out. Three Angry Girls: “OK!” and they pack up. What the hell!?

Once again, Seok-hyun catches Kyu-won during her sad moments. She mournfully asks if she’s really that inferior to Shin. Seok-hyun promises to punish every single person who says she is; Kyu-won has the ability to move people’s hearts, and it’s just unfortunate that very few people can realize that. He also says that he’ll beat up Shin if he ever breaks her heart.

Hmm… is Seok-hyun playing the “protective older brother” card right now? But he also has a moment of confusion, where he even shakes his head to clear out his feelings.

Shin rides up to Kyu-won’s home, but finds that she’s not there yet. At home, he types out several versions of an apology but can’t decide on the proper text. Jung-hyun interrupts him, aghast that he’s really dating Kyu-won. She thinks her brother’s at a disadvantage if it’s true, and warns him that they can’t kiss! The moment they do, he will lose all his fans… and then she can never sell his autographs again! (Yes, it all circles back to her and her money-making schemes.)

Yoon-su and Seok-hyun go to his friend Jung-eun’s bar for some drinks. Seok-hyun thinks that it’s Kyu-won that’s at a disadvantage here, as he doesn’t think Shin has anything great. Jung-eun doesn’t care – he’s never had so much business during the day with so many girls crying over Shin! Good thing Shin arrives at that moment. Seok-hyun warns him not to hurt Kyu-won, and Shin tells the director to worry about his own girlfriend, Yoon-su.

Kyu-won is annoyed that she never got a text from Shin all day. He must be a dolt at dating! She tries to distract herself with other things, when finally she gets a text from Shin! He wants her to go down to Catharsis no matter what. And, to leave Bo-woon out of it.

Hee-joo mopes at home, thinking, when her mother comes into her room. The mother tells her she’ll try to kick out Seok-hyun and Kyu-won from the production. Hee-joo: “Thanks. They bothered me anyway.”

UGH. Any hope that I had of her possibly redeeming herself just dissipated.

Shin performs with The Stupid, and this time there are less patrons, as most of the girls are pissed he’s taken. He sees Kyu-won come in, and immediately stops playing. Eh? Shin picks up an acoustic guitar, and sings his ballad for Kyu-won, declaring his love for her.
